To stay healthy, we need to do other things beside look at our computers and phones.

Hong Kong students face a heavy workload, including homework, revision and extracurricular activities. As a result, their health is often neglected. It is very important to look after ourselves.

We should stay healthy, both physically and emotionally. A healthy body and mind help to fight off illnesses and allow us to cope with the stress we face in our daily lives.

I think this requires adjusting our mindset. I agree we are under a lot of pressure but there’s no reason we shouldn’t be happy, have a positive attitude, and just enjoy life.

If we are unhappy or depressed, it has a negative impact on our health.

A balanced diet and exercise also are very important.

Last but not least, get enough rest. Don’t think that getting a good night’s sleep is a waste of your valuable time.

If you maintain a healthy lifestyle, good results will follow.

To help students be healthier, school should start later

From the Editor

Thanks for your letter, Ella. You are right, it is very important to look after our health.

In a busy city like Hong Kong, people often don’t pay enough attention to health and exercise. We’re too busy with our studies or work.

Apart from a balanced diet and exercise, there’s another aspect that we tend to ignore. Most of us spend hours in front of the computer every day. Remember to sit up straight in front of the computer, instead of leaning towards it. In addition, we should take regular breaks when using the computer to give our eyes a rest, and do some stretching exercises.

We could also lead by example. If we can show our peers that exercising is not only good for our health but also fun, I’m sure that we will convince others to join us.

The good news is that even if you’re not feeling especially happy or healthy at the moment, you can turn things around by starting to act on it. Do it now!
