We asked our readers to write a review of a film or book about a meaningful relationship between a pet and its owner. Here is one of the entries. It has not been edited

In the movie A Dog’s Purpose, pet is considered to have a profound relationship with its owner, which can pass through barriers of reincarnation and time. This relationship is more than a friend or a family member, maybe a soul mate would be a more accurate way of saying it.  No matter how many years pass, no matter how far they are separated, there is still a link between the owner and pet, leading them to reunite once again.  And this link is also known as “destiny”, the most irreversible concept in the movie.  I was deeply impressed by the scene, when the owner recognized his animal buddy that had long time no seen.  I saw wrinkles on the owner’s face, he was not that teenager anymore, and the dog did not look like the same.  However, the two play with each other, just like what they did in the past. I realized that lots of things changes from the past, but emotion, and the feeling of missing would definitely remain the same from beginning to end.

What I learnt from this movie is how to cherish a relationship with gratitude and respect.  In reality, not everyone will treat you decently like the characters in “A Dog’s Purpose” do.  Therefore, when we come across with nice people, or animals that values you, we should treat them in a better way.  Showing enough concern and being sympathetic.  As a result, this relationship will last for a long time and become one of the most unforgettable memories in your life.  I hope one day I can also have a great relationship with someone, just like the owner and the pet.
