Spoil Your Folks! Anson Leung's entry for the Young Post buffet dinner competition
We asked our readers to write about what their perfect date with their parents or guardians would look like for their chance to win a buffet dinner at a five-star-hotel. Here is one of the entries, which has not been edited
What would be a perfect date with my parents?
Perhaps a movie date.
Of course, being in Disneyland meeting infamous princesses would be a great date but I don’t really think my parents would appreciate it. In contrary, they would love being in the cinemas all day.
We DESPERATELY love films, from indie flicks to blockbusters, we adore every single movie. Because of that, I would plan a trip for us to roam in the cinemas all day long. With Hong Kong being a flourishing city, there are theaters right around each block.
Sadly, sometimes the cinemas schedule may not suit our cravings but all we need to do is to walk a few passages for another theatre. We can enjoy all our favorite hits as long as we like. In between movies, we can buy popcorn and hotdogs for a delicious brunch-I knows it’s pretty unhealthy but come on, don’t ruin the fun!
After hours of moviethon, it’s time for us to have a fancy dinner. For dinner, we can dine in an Italian restaurant near the mall as we like Italian food as well. We could devour dishes of spaghetti.
This date is tailor-made for my family. The date isn’t extremely expensive or extraordinary, all I want to do is to create a day for us to have fun and do what we like to do. Therefore, this date is the perfect date for my parents and me.
