Spoil Your Folks! Chow Sze-yuet's entry for the Young Post buffet dinner competition
We asked our readers to write about what their perfect date with their parents or guardians would look like for their chance to win a buffet dinner at a five-star-hotel. Here is one of the entries, which has not been edited
A day for two (plus two)
Since my sister and I were born, my parents seldom have had private time together. To give them some romance time, I would bring them on a trip to the Peak on foot, as the Peak was where my dad proposed to my mom.
In the morning, we would wake up early and travel to Central by bus. Starting from Central, we'd start a one-hour journey to the Peak, through various nature trails. We'd take a glimpse at the lush green trees, listen to the birds chirping among the bushes, and chat along the way. It would be a great way to catch up on each other's lives.
At the Peak, we'd directly walk up to the Peak Tower and hop up to the viewing platform Sky Terrace 428. Apart from getting an awesome view of Hong Kong, my parents would definitely relieve the memories of the proposal at the Peak, while my sister and I would definitely give the lovebirds some private space.
At night, we'd choose a restaurant there to enjoy our dinner. It would be a great opportunity for my parents to chat more, think about their old happy days, and spend some sweet time together.
It would be romantic and so sweet to see the most important couple of my life having a cosy get-together on top of Hong Kong!
