ROYP: Wise words that push our readers to question, discover, and look inward more
Each week, we ask Young Post readers to share a little bit about themselves along with a quote that helps them get through life
Hey there! My name is Zachary and I currently go to South Island School. I am 13 and I am about to start my GCSEs. I currently volunteer at an animal charity and spend a lot of my time with them.
Most inspiring quote:
“If Cinderella’s shoe fit perfectly, Why did it fall off?”
– Anonymous
I like this quote because it emphasises the need to question everything, even though that’s what you have been told all your life. Plus, it’s funny!

ROYP: Wise words that uplift our readers in times of despair
Hello, I’m Chi-ching! I’m 15 years old andwill begin the Diploma programme at Renaissance College later this month. I have a passion for creative writing, science subjects, and sports. During my free time, I like to read, watch TV, spend time with family and friends, play video games, and write stories.
My dream job is to one day become a journalist or doctor. Some of my skills include proficiency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and public speaking and debating.
Most inspiring quote:
“Discover yourself through experiencing new things, and live a life that is governed by your values.”
– Anonymous
I believe that life is a learning experience, and you should embrace every opportunity to discover new things. When I was little, I was terrified of water so I was stressed out when I heard that I would be joining an ESF swimming course. But I eventually began to enjoy swimming.
However, it is true that trying new things do not always guarantee success. However, trying something and finding that you don’t enjoy it isn’t failure – you just gain a better understanding of yourself. Hence the saying: “If you don’t try, you won’t know.”

ROYP: The inspiring words that motivate our readers to achieve great things
Hi, my name is Neel Chawla. I am 15 years old and am about to begin my IB Diploma studies at Renaissance College. My hobbies include cooking, travelling, gaming, and flying my flight simulator. One of my greatest interests is aviation and I hope to become a commercial pilot one day. I have chosen to be an intern at Young Post because I want to explore my interests and discover new possible career options outside the aviation industry.
Most inspiring quote:
“Focus on the journey, not the destination.”
– Retired Canadian astronaut, Chris Hadfield
I believe in this quote because it’s our accomplishments that make our lives so enjoyable.

ROYP: inspiring words that give our readers that little extra push they need
Hi! I’m Joy, I’m 16 and I’m a student at Hong Kong International School. I enjoy listening to good music and taking a nap.
Most inspiring quote:
Horrible poet: “There is a conspiracyof silence against my book, Oscar. What should I do?”
Oscar Wilde: “Join it.”
It’s witty and it’s cruel, but it’s also representative of a good work ethic. Being able to accept that your work is bad is an underrated but extremely valuable skill.
