I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I am American-Swiss-Chinese. Although I spend most of my time at boarding school in the US, Hong Kong will always hold a special place in my heart. It is where I developed an international perspective and learned to be bilingual. I love reading, taking photos, athletics and eating. I also like journalism very much. I became interested in journalism after reading the Sunday Young Post seven years ago. Now, I read The Economist and National Geo graphic, but my fondness for Young Post has never dimmed. In addition, I have a profound love for animals, especially dogs and horses – I have ones of my own!

Most inspiring quote:

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.”

– Scientist Albert Einstein

I try to remember this quote whether I am on holiday, at school or at home. In doing so, I believe I can learn not only to move on from tough times but also to keep moving forward in search of something greater, or to simply, as Einstein puts it, find a “balance in life”.

Biance Lee (15)

I study biomedical sciences and am interested in start-ups and entrepreneurship. I also love sports, hiking, camping, and exploring the world through travel.

Most inspiring quote:

“Live a life you will remember.”

– Anonymous

I want to look back at my life and be happy and proud of it. My advice is: Just follow your dreams and grab every opportunity.

Chak Sum-ho (21)

I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I moved to England a few years ago to attend boarding school. I enjoyed the best years of my life in Hong Kong. I tried so many new things and made friends from all over the world. I used to write for Young Post’s Face Off column, and I loved doing it. It was great to be featured in a newspaper. I also love diving. Learning new diving techniques is so challenging and exciting.

Most inspiring quote:

“Make no change, see no change.”

– Anonymous

Change is always difficult and quite a few of us would rather let things stay the way they are, even though they are not completely happy. But I believe that if I want to achieve a goal, or want a better life for myself or for other people, change is essential.

Helen Wong (17)

My interests include photography and DIYs. I also love acting, public speaking and debating. And I am an ailurophile – I LOVE cats!

Most inspiring quote:

“Be a unicorn in a field of horses.”

– Anonymous

This quote inspires me because I believe that you should stand out and be colourful and cheerful rather than being dull and boring. You should know that you were born to be different so there is no need for you to try to fit in.
