Hey there! Being a very sentimental person, I treasure everything, from people to objects. Telling me to let things go is something that I cannot fathom.

Most inspiring quote:

“All of life is an act of letting go, but what hurts the most is not taking a moment to say goodbye.”

– Pi Patel in Life of Pi

As life goes by, I realise that letting go is a part of growing up. I have realised that no matter what, all good things will stay with you forever, and if that person or object matters to you, they will always hold a place in your heart.

Maybe this is a good time to let go of things we do not wish to remember. Instead, let’s embrace the Lunar New Year with joy and hope!

Hi, I’m Kyle! Studying in my school is certainly demanding and stressful, so I enjoy unusual things like Ufology and Chinese percussion.

Most inspiring quote:

“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

– Matthew 6:34

I live by this quote because it stops me from worrying. There are nights when I feel uneasy and stressed because I know something ominous lies ahead of me. Deadline’s tomorrow, can I finish my work on time? We will check our papers tomorrow, did I fail?

If I’m on the verge of a meltdown, this quote tells me to calm down and take a nap. What’s more, it reminds me of something that is even more important – the Bible. It is always the best shelter from the raging storms in my mind.

Kyle Leung (15)

Hi! I’m Angelina, a 16-year-old student at Chinese International School. I love writing and journalism, dancing and K-pop.

Most inspiring quote:

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”

– American actress Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962)

Living in this modern incubator for academic competitiveness and undue stress, I’m a bit of a perfectionist, which has caused a fair share of struggles in my life.

Angelina Wang (16)

I wake up every day with hope because I know that no one holds more power than our own selves, and that the greatest changes in history came not from authorities, but the masses.

Most inspiring quote:

“People shouldn’t be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.”

— From the film, V for Vendetta

I’ll be honest: I wasn’t sure if I’d be allowed to use such a controversial quote here. Young Post is a very liberal newspaper and allows a diverse range of views, but I’m afraid not everyone is as open-minded.

Some people will interpret this quote to be radical, but it isn’t just about the nature of democracy – it’s about standing up and knowing that we have the power to inspire change as well.

Let this quote remind all of us that change, whether for better or worse, is always possible.
