Greetings, readers! Public speaking used to make me really nervous. I always backed off whenever there was any event or activity which involved sharing or speaking about a certain topic in front of a lot of people. This was caused by the fact that I always underestimated myself and kept thinking that I will be judged if I say this or that, or maybe I overthink a lot. I would always think “what if this happens” or “what if that happens”.

Most inspiring quote:

“It’s the mic that makes us nervous, so forget that you are holding it. You have to bear one thing in mind: when you are speaking, you are the one who is in control. Even if you make a mistake or forget something in your script, just go with the flow. Nobody knows your script, nobody knows what you are going to talk about next.”

– Dalbir Singh, lecturer

This was indeed the best thing I’ve heard about public speaking. Thanks to this piece of advice, I did actually overcome my difficulty, and on top of that, I became more confident when it came to joining competitions or activities involving public speaking.

How’s your day going? I’ve always had stage fright. But plucking up the courage to actually overcome it every time can be pretty nerve-wracking.

Most inspiring quote:

“Keep calm, because it takes only a few minutes of your time. It will be over before you know it.”

– My friend

Truthfully, those words comfort me and keep me going. Mr Stage, I’m coming for you!

Jessie Larbi Prudence (18)

Hello readers, I am a teenager with many worries. Many things in my life make me feel disappointed. I want to change them but I do not have the power to control everything. I am just a little potato with little knowledge.

Most inspiring quote:

We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love.

– Mother Teresa

There are people who dislike me, and I may never be able to change their opinions about me. In spite of this, I should try to figure out the reasons with patience, and be kind and loving to others.

Martha Lai (15)

Going through hardships is challenging enough, let alone getting suffocated in my own bubble.

Most inspiring quote:

“Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.”

– American poet and civil rights activist, Maya Angelou

I was able to take a step back from my own struggles and believe in the fact that God has put me through this on purpose – not just to help me grow and mature as I enter adulthood, but also prepare myself, so I could become a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.
