The 17 year-old from Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School finished third in the men’s 110m hurdles event with an overall time of 27.13 seconds, a total from two rounds of competition. He finished the first round with a time of 13.74 seconds, and set a new personal best time in the second round with 13.39 seconds.
He was 0.14 seconds slower than second-place finisher Kenny Fletcher from France, and 0.22 seconds off-the-pace from the gold medallist Owaab Barrow of Qatar.
The bronze medal is Hong Kong's third medal so far at this year's event, following two silvers claimed by epee fencer Kaylin Hsieh Sin-yan last week.
Addis is the only representative of the Hong Kong athletics team to participate in the Youth Olympic Games this year. Earlier in May, the hurdler brought home a silver medal from the Morocco Gymnasiade 2018 and a bronze medal from the All China Youth (Under 18) Athletics Championships.
