Local skaters took home first places finishes in two important events at the 2018/2019 Asian Junior Figure Skating Challenge held from October 2-4 at the Festival Walk ice rink in Kowloon Tong.

15-year-old Kahlen Cheung Cheuk-ka was crowned overall champion in the Elite Junior Ladies (U18) event while 14-year-old Jacke Zhao Heung-lai earned his second consecutive overall champion award in the Elite Junior Men (U18) category.

Over 180 skaters from nine Asian countries and regions including Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand gathered in the city for a three-day figure skating challenge.

The Asian Junior Figure Skating Challenge was an approved event of the Asian Skating Union, but the result will not contribute to the skaters’ world standings.
