Hong Kong Observatory forecasts cold and dry weather over the weekend
Humidity will also drop over the course of next week as a northeast monsoon will bring cooler temperatures to the south China coast
The Hong Kong Observatory predicts the weather will become colder and drier over the weekend, dropping to 16 degrees Celsius on Monday. The temperature is expected to continue to drop over the week, with humidity falling to 35 per cent on Wednesday.
A dry northeast monsoon will bring generally fine weather to the south China coast over the weekend. Under the influence of the continuing monsoon, temperatures over southern China are expected to fall progressively next week and it will be windy. The weather will be rather cool over the region in the latter part of next week, said the weather bureau.

Anticipating a spike in flu cases because of the cold weather, the Hospital Authority has begun doling out incentives for private doctors to help, such as increased pay for private doctors helping at public hospitals and a scheme to subsidise visits to private clinics and offset the strain on the public system.
