The Labour Department’s Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) will host a recruitment day on Wednesday for its e-Learning Support Scheme.
The scheme was launched to provide on-the-job training for young people interested in pursuing careers in information technology, multimedia, and education industries.
Successful applicants will attend training courses this summer. The courses will cover workplace etiquette and communication, basic systems training and programming, and the use of IT technology in STEM education, among other things.
They will then start paid work in September, and receive on-the-job training working as classroom assistants managing multimedia and e-learning materials, and helping to maintain computer hardware and software.
The scheme is open to Form Five, HKDSE, or sub-degree programme graduates aged 15 to 24. No relevant studies or work experience is required.
YETP held two recruitment days last month, and decided to hold a third after the release of this year’s DSE results. Wednesday’s event will take place at Pui Ching Primary School in Ho Man Tin. Go to the YETP website for more information.
