Event is jointly organised by the HK Journalist Association, the HK Press Photographers Association and other journalist unions in the city
Seven journalist unions in Hong Kong have organised a silent march tomorrow in support of press freedom in the city, and to protest alleged police brutality towards journalists during the anti-extradition bill protests.
The Hong Kong Journalist Association wrote on Facebook on Thursday that they have been outraged by the police’s treatment of the media. According to their statement, journalists had been dispersed unreasonably, pushed, and insulted by police; others were said to have been injured by police and hit with beanbag rounds.

Marchers will gather at Harcourt Garden at 10.30am and pass the police headquarters on their way to the Office of the Chief Executive in Admiralty. Organisers have asked participants to wear black, and said they can also wear reflective vests, which were widely worn during the protests to identify themselves to others as press.
The march is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Journalist Association, the Hong Kong Press Photographers Association, the Independent Commentators Association, the Journalism Educators for Press Freedom, the Ming Pao Staff Association, the Next Media Trade Union, and the RTHK Programme Staff Union.
