Action Day will feature everything from green art workshops and a forum on climate change to an attempt to break a pancake-related Guinness World Record
The Kwun Tong Promenade is the perfect setting for an eco festival.HeroesToo, a local environmental non-profit organisation, will hold their first festival, Action Day, at Kwun Tong Promenade on May 18.
There will be a range of health and eco-conscious activities open to the public from 2pm to 6pm, including eco-art workshops, face painting, game booths, and a baking workshop where you can make healthy cookies for pets.
Ewan Windebank, one of the student leaders of the School Strike Hong Kong for Climate Action and representatives from various eco-organisations will discuss climate change action in a forum. The talk will be facilitated by Aquameridian Conservation & Education founder & former TVB host, Sharon Kwok.
There will also be a screening of award-winning short film Plastic Soup. The film was commissioned by the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation and premiered at the recent Eco Film Festival.
Local food stalls, such as Mammy Pancake, will be offering food at the venue. The Michelin-starred stall will be attempting to set a Guinness World Record for most pancakes cooked in an hour.
Winners of the School Bottle Wrap Design Competition, a contest held by HeroesToo for secondary school students, will also be presented with their awards, and the winning designs will be on sale on the day.
