A teenage boy was injured in a fight with a fellow student at the secondary section of Rosaryhill School in Happy Valley on Thursday afternoon.
At about 12.30pm, a 16-year-old Form Three student was injured on the left side of his face by a 17-year-old Form Two male student during a physical dispute at about 12.30pm during the school's lunch break.
The injured boy was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai for treatment.
A statement by the school said the dispute arose out of a misunderstanding, and "The S.2 student accidentally hurt the other boy's face with a ball pen."
The statement also said teachers immediately intervened, reported the case to the police and sent the injured boy to the hospitial. It further stated that the parents of the involved students were informed and the school could not disclose further details due to the ongoing investigation.
According to a police spokesperson, the students had been involved in another dispute earlier in the week on Tuesday at a bus stop. The spokesperson also denied any weapons were uesd. The case is being investigated as a case of common assault.
