A 10-year-old girl whose disappearance on Sunday night sparked a citywide search was found safe on Monday, according to police.

A police spokesman said Tang Yuen-sze was located when she turned up at her father’s office in Chai Wan on Monday afternoon.

Tang was reported missing in the early hours of Monday morning, several hours after one of her grandparents lost sight of her in a supermarket on Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan on Sunday night.

Hong Kong police made a public appeal on Monday for help in the search for a 10-year-old girl who was reported missing on Sunday night.

Tang Yuen-sze had been shopping with one of her grandparents in a supermarket on Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan, on Sunday night. The grandparent lost sight of her at about 8.40pm.

The search began when she was reported missing in the early hours of Monday morning.

According to police, the girl has straight, shoulder-length black hair, is about 1.4 metres tall, weighs 29kg and is of slight build.

“She was last seen wearing a light grey jacket, light grey trousers and blue sports shoes, and carrying a blue and yellow backpack,” a police spokesman said.

Police have urged anyone with information to contact officers on 3660 1500 or 3660 1515 or notify any police station.
