What to do if you hear gun shots in Hong Kong
Four people were injured in a shooting in Quarry Bay on Tuesday afternoon.
A policeman speaking unofficially to Young Post gave some advice for teenagers about what to do in the event of a shooting, and how best they should react and protect themselves.
"Gunshots are not a joke," said the police officer. "Do not stop to film or take photographs."
Here is what you should do
1. Keep calm
2. Make sure your environment is safe. If the gunshot sounds far away, then leave the area, moving in the opposite direction, as soon as possible.
3. If you can see the shooter, try to hide behind obstacles and lie flat on the ground.
4. If, and only if, it is safe to do so, try to take note of the shooter's appearance. Do not try to do this if it means drawing the shooter's attention to yourself and endangering your life.
5. Call 999 immediately.
