Students from Po Leung Kuk Tang Yuk Tien College have found social media fame this week with a video for an upcoming election.

Seventeen students and members of the Pixel student union, including the secretary, treasurer and president, can be seen supporting the group's External Vice-President, Chiu Man-chun, 16, as he raps about his team in a Facebook video that was posted on August 30.

This video was a promotion for this year’s Student Union elections.

As summer holiday officially ends, students suffer the three back-to-school 'diseases'

"We got this idea from our external Vice President, Chiu Man-chun, after he watched the famous show The Rap of China. He joked: 'Why don't we rap in our publicity video?'," says Pixel's President, Chiu Man-ho, 16.

The amateur rappers are twin brothers.

The video received more than 495,000 views and more than 20,000 Facebook likes on the Pixel website.

On Facebook entertainment page, Hong Kong Lifestyle, the video hit 747,000 views and hit 24,000 likes – famous pop singer James Ng Yip-kwan amongst them. Elections will be held on Sep 21.

Tell us what you think about it! Has anyone at your school ever done anything similar?
