I’m Nick Hsu, a 16-year-old student studying in America. I like humanities, law, and politics. When I have time, I enjoy sailing, debating and writing. I also nap and play video games.

Most inspiring quote

“Anyone who thinks that they are too small to make a difference has never tried to fall asleep with a mosquito in the room.”

– US politician and author Christine Todd Whitman

I like this quote because all you need to do to take down giants and change our world is a lot of perseverance and a little bit of ruthlessness.

ROYP: From books to beats – inspiring words our readers take comfort in

I’m Trista and I’m a 15-year-old student at Ching Chung Hau Po Woon Secondary School. I’m a member of our school’s marching band and I love playing the trumpet.

Most inspiring quote

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”

– Former US President Theodore Roosevelt

This quote always reminds me that I should not give up when I have failed, as most people give up when they are very close to achieving their dreams. Just believe in yourself and do the work again and you will succeed one day.

ROYP: Wise words that uplift our readers in times of despair

Hello! My name is Megan and I’m a 15-year-old student at Delia School of Canada. I’m a musician and an avid reader. Usually you’ll find me snacking and napping.

Most inspiring quote

“Look around, look around, at how lucky we are to be alive right now.”

– Elizabeth Schuyler, Hamilton

This is a lyric from the song The Schuyler Sisters in the hit US musical Hamilton. This quote serves more as a reminder to me, that no matter what hardships or depressive episodes I go through, I am still alive and breathing. We always take for granted the things we have in this world and it is humbling to remember how lucky we are to have them.
