Swift and sure

I believe Taylor Swift would be the best president of the United States. She's not only a superb singer/composer, she's also not afraid to speak out against social injustice. The fact that she was on the cover of Time magazine shows how powerful she is. Her unique character can definitely influence Americans, especially youngsters, who are the country's future.

A Jolie-good show!

Angelina Jolie! Need I say more? She is strong, independent, and kind-hearted, so she is the perfect candidate to lead the country.

Malala's positive influence

Malala Yousafzai, who is fighting for girls' education rights, would make the best US president. She is a very brave person. She was shot by the Taliban extremists, but continues to promote children's rights around the world. Also, she is more ambitious and mature when compared to other teenagers. If she became the US president, lots of people would learn from her positive attitude.

Cute kitty a big hit

Pusheen the cat should run for president. Behind his cute face is a kind soul, with years of wisdom gained from observing countless Facebook conversations. His remarkable poise sets him apart from other candidates. He's definitely more likeable than Donald Trump, is not as arrogant as Kanye West, and has more female fans than Hillary Clinton.

Hasta la vista, Kanye

My choice would be the Terminator actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. As a former governor of California, he brought peace and economic prosperity to the US state. The reason I think he would be the best US president is not simply because he's a fine actor, but because he has the passion to make America a better place. He's also very honest and that's the type of person the country needs now.

Weave your magic, Emma

Harry Potter star Emma Watson would do a wonderful job as America's head of state. While working on film projects, she did not give up her education. She graduated from Brown University with a bachelor's degree in English literature. She was also appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador last year. She has wisdom, talent, and beauty, and cares about human rights. She can be our role model.

Now you're talking!

Ellen DeGeneres would make a great president of the United States. Besides being a very popular talk-show host, she is a very optimistic woman who wants to help the needy. She could also represent the LGBT community and strive to ensure equality for all.

Angie Chan, 18, College of International Education, Baptist University

Queen of America?

"Media Queen" Oprah Winfrey would be the perfect leader. She knows how to act in front of a camera, and her candidacy would generate great interest among African-American women. Best of all, she would be able to finance her own campaign without seeking donations from rich people. (And if she became president, Josh Peck would be less likely to run her over).

Maryam Gul, 15, St Margaret's Girls' College, Hong Kong

Bill, the Gate-crasher!

It has to be Microsoft chief, Bill Gates. He revolutionised the technology industry, and donated a large part of his wealth to charity. With Gates as US president, imagine the opportunities that would open up for the rest of the world! The sad thing is he isn't really a politician, so this is just a dream right now.

A free hand

If I was to be really, really honest, it would come down to Miley Cyrus. This is not because I was the number one Hannah Montana fan, but because I really don't think anyone can show what freedom is all about better than her. She has haters, but she doesn't care! This is the kind of attitude people should have. (But hey, you gotta love yourself, Miley.)
