Ready to be scared?

Ready to be scared?

Today is Halloween! That means spooky stories, creepy costumes and, best of all, lots of sweets. We asked our readers what they like best about All Hallows' Eve

1. Ghoulish glutton

I can finally take a break from my weight-loss plan on Halloween. Nobody can resist the temptation of free sweets, so it's completely understandable to be a glutton without any guilt - for one day at least.

Lee Chiu-yin, 15, Immaculate Heart of Mary College

2. Terror on the TV

The best thing about Halloween is seeing my old "friend" on TV again. When it's Halloween, the famous horror film actress Law Lan is always featured in an advert for a local theme park. The advert goes viral every time, and people say it's like seeing an old friend.

Yu Ka-wing, 15, Immaculate Heart of Mary College

3. Sinister snacks

I love the mouth-watering food at a Halloween party ... dishes like turkey pesto eyeballs, which are actually made of olives and meatballs, or severed hot dog fingers that look exactly like human fingers. Though they look horrible and scary, they are actually delicious!

Alan Kan, 15, Wong Shiu Chi Secondary School

4. Mum's no monster

Normally, my mum never lets me eat sweets. But on Halloween, I am allowed to eat all kinds of treats without any restrictions.

Sophia Zhang, 10, Sha Tin Junior School

5. Down with the devil

As a Christian, I refuse to celebrate Halloween and play with people dressed up as the devil. But I admire people's creativity and ideas for their Halloween costumes.

Kelly Cheung, 16, SKH Lam Kau Mow Secondary School

6. Having a sweet time

I can't think of a better excuse for eating tonnes of sweets and dressing up as a pumpkin!

Chloe Barreau, 15, Chinese International School

7. Spooked out

I love being scared and getting into the spooky spirit. Seeing ghosts and monsters everywhere is so exciting!

Leo Sin, 16, Fung Kai Liu Man Shek Tong Secondary School

8. It's time to party

I love the atmosphere during Halloween. Everyone dresses up as either funny characters or scary creatures. My neighbourhood will be like a theme park.

Cody Leung, 18, Fung Kai Liu Man Shek Tong Secondary School

9. Creepy costumes

It is the perfect excuse to dress up ridiculously without anybody judging you.

Erika Olvina, 16, St Margaret's Girls' College

10. Freaky freebies

The best thing about Halloween is that I get free sweets from my neighbours.

Li Ka-ki, 17, Fung Kai Liu Man Shek Tong Secondary School
