I would choose a department store, because you can buy a lot of different products there, such as clothes, food, household goods, and electronic gadgets. It would be great to be able to get all these different products for free.

An Apple a day ...
I would choose an Apple store, because most of their products are very expensive. It would be amazing if I could get an iPad and iPhone for free!

I’d go to a big bookstore because I love reading, and usually spend a lot of money on books. If I could get a load of books without paying a cent, I would be so happy!
Tracy Tse, 12, Heep Yunn School
I would choose a CD shop. I love listening to music in my spare time, and would love to have a big collection of albums from different singers. One album is quite expensive, so it would be great if I could just grab whatever I wanted from the CD shop. Then I could listen to all sorts of music!
Eric Tsang Hing-ho, 13, Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College
I would choose a supermarket, because there are so many things I could buy – fruits, fizzy drinks, vegetables, meat, juice, and sweets. After shopping, I would bring it all home, and then cook up a feast which I could enjoy with my family.
Karrie So, 12, Scientia Secondary School
I’d choose a jewellery shop. I would take as many pieces with precious stones – like diamonds, rubies, and emeralds – as I could, so I could sell them for more money. Then I’d be able to buy items I truly want from different shops.
Lau Ka-kin, 13, Immaculate Heart of Mary College
I’d choose a computer equipment store. Computer equipment is usually very expensive. It would be awesome if I could get a really good computer for free, with a high-resolution screen that won’t freeze up.
Also, my parents and I often misplace our charging cables, and have to take turns to charge our phones. If I could get a few more cables for free, it would ensure that everyone could charge their phone happily. It would also reduce the number of meaningless arguments we have.
Moses Mok Chun-hei, 13, SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School
It would definitely be Vans. The brand is very popular and the quality is very high. Their shoes, in particular, are trendy, and come in a wide range of colours and designs. If I could shop there for free, I’d grab everything they have in my size!
Kainat Farooq, 16, HKTA The Yuen Yuen Institute No. 3 Secondary School
I would like to shop for free at a big toy shop because there would be many very expensive toys there. But I would not get them for myself or my siblings. I’d donate them to poor children, because some do not even have money to buy food, never mind toys. I think that would make them happy.
Winnie Li, 14, Ng Yuk Secondary School
It would definitely be an art store because I love art. I’m running low on art supplies, and without art supplies, I can’t create. I’d pick up paint, brushes, canvases, clay, glue, and much, much more!
