Go for the gold!

I would travel to South Korea with my family. Now is the perfect time to plan a trip because South Korea will be hosting the 2018 Winter Olympics! We’d be able to enjoy all the beautiful snow scenes and watch the winter sports.

The Big Apple

I wish I could go to New York! It’s the perfect place to celebrate Christmas and the New Year, but I bet it would help cure the January blues, too. I would love to be able to explore all the different landmarks with my family.

Home is where the heart is

My ideal January getaway would be right here in Hong Kong. That would mean I get to spend time with my friends and family.

Worth the binge

The best way to cure the January blues is to stay at home all day watching Korean dramas in bed. Now that the weather is finally cooler, you can actually snuggle up under blankets to get warm and take things easy.

Santa, I'm coming to you

I really don’t want Christmas to be over! After all, winter has only just begun. So I would go to the Santa Claus Village in Finland. It would also be nice to feel like I did as a child, when I still believed in Santa Claus. At least there, it would feel as if he really exists.

Tony Zhao Tsz-hei, 12, King Ling College

White Christmas

Hong Kong is so warm, even in January, so I’d like to experience a real winter with snow and white winter trees. A city like Helsinki in Finland or Moscow in Russia would be the perfect place to make the most of the season.

Tanya Khem, 15, YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College

Sun and fun...in January?

The best way to escape the post-Christmas blues is to go somewhere warm and sunny! I would go to Australia, where it’s summer right now. I could sunbathe on the beach while sipping on a glass of iced coffee. I’d forget it was January altogether.

Serena Yip, 14, Stewards Pooi Kei College

Sushi. Way more sushi.

After Christmas and New Year, there’s always a feeling of dread as exams are right around the corner. But if I could escape my exams, I would go to Japan. There is so much spectacular scenery, not to mention tasty food, I would be able to forget all my worries.

Angus Ng Chit-on, 14, Sing Yin Secondary School

Penguins are the best

A lot of people would want to escape the cold in January, but I’d want to go to the coldest place on Earth. Yup, I would go to the South Pole. I would be able to see the penguins that live there.

Ronald Suen, 15, Fung Kai Liu Man Shek Tong Secondary School

Just chill

To beat the January blues, I just want to be somewhere where I can relax and enjoy some free time, without having to worry about homework or chores – even for just one day!
