Grub: fresh bagels and bread, pasta, and coffee

Vibe: This family-run bakery cafe gives you serious warm and cosy vibes. Apart from a big mural painting of a European town on the wall and hanging plants dangling down from the ceiling, the interior decor is quite simple; it might not be very hip or modern, but you will certainly feel at home.

Upon entering the cafe, you will be greeted by a young girl and her grandma who will hand you a hot cup of black tea right away and tell you the recommendations of the day. The rest of the staff are very friendly, as well.

Who to take: Bread lovers! Especially those who are interested in trying out new and interesting flavours of artisanal bagels. Bring your health-conscious pals, too. This cafe uses natural ingredients and promote using less sugar and less fat in their food and beverages.

All of the bread, bagels and cakes are made fresh at the cafe each day, without emulsifiers or preservatives.

What’s hot: The bagel and cake selection vary every day, so you will never get bored of this place. At B.Two House, bagels are the main attraction, and with their signature savoury bagel sandwiches and unique dessert bagels, we can see why.

Their bagels are soft and chewy on the inside, and come in a range of flavours including purple potato, peanut butter chocolate, tiramisu and peach cheesecake!

If you’re not a fan of bagels, they also serve toast, croissants and Vienna bread. We recommend you try the lemon cheese-filled Vienna bread which is stuffed with flavour.

Their pasta is good, too. We thought the Carbonara was perfectly seasoned and paired well with their bread. The coffee and tea made is with black sugar, which adds a nice, rich flavour to their drinks, but we loved the low-fat sea salt cream coffee the best.

What’s not: The cafe is a little tricky to find in the maze that is Kwun Tong’s industrial area. And once you do get there, you won’t find any plug sockets for chargers, so the cafe is not ideal for someone wanting to do some work on their laptop.

Cost: Special set lunches range from HK$86 to HK$92, and includes a salad, special drink, pasta, a signature bread, and a dessert cake. The artisanal bread set lunch costs HK$68.
