November 1 is World Vegan Day. It was set up in 1994 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Vegan Society. The founders also created the word now used to describe people who avoid all animal foods such as meat, dairy, eggs and honey; animal products such as leather, and as far as possible, products tested on animals.
