She came fourth on The X Factor, but that hasn't stopped Cher Lloyd acting like a winner. Her first single, Swagger Jagger, made waves around the world; now she's released her second album, Sorry I'm Late.

The album opens with the catchiest tracks, Just Be Mine and I Wish, which are the height of pink-tinged bubblegum pop (complete with T.I. doing the honours of the male rap verse on I Wish).

Lloyd has a very specific form of delivery, half speaking and half singing. It is a little similar to Lily Allen, but with more rasp and aggression.

In this new album however, we hear Lloyd croon for the first time and showcase her vocal capabilities. She is particularly impressive - albeit dark - in Human and Sweet Despair. In the latter track, she even throws in a sassy rap. as a sassy signature.

There is only one dud in the album - Bind Your Love feels like a bit of an afterthought.

This lively album is like a cross between Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani and Nicki Minaj. It's perfect for playing loudly at a party.
