A wrongly accused hero seeks revenge for his "bro". That just about sums up the plot of racing movie Need for Speed, directed by former stuntman Scott Waugh.

Despite the cliché, the popular video-game-turned-movie is likely to top the box office worldwide.

Talented mechanic Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul) fine-tunes a Ford Shelby GT500, leading to a multi-million-dollar deal, making entrepreneur and fellow driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper) extremely jealous. Before long Tobey, his friend Pete (Harrison Gilbertson) and Dino are racing.

Things go wrong when Pete's car is sent flying in the air as a result of something Dino does. Not only does Tobey lose his best pal, but he's framed for causing the accident and sent to jail.

After serving his two-year jail term, our hero is determined to gain revenge by beating Dino in De Leon, the most prestigious underground race out there.

This movie is a great chance to watch some of the world's most expensive cars cruising through epic scenery. But the incredibly cheesy dialogue fails to hold interest, and the film's sexist undertone is almost as annoying as the over-the-top acting.

Some may say this falls into the "it's-so-bad-that-it's-good" class. They should watch Vin Diesel's epic leap in Fast and Furious 6 to know what that really means.
