A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon is an entertaining family adventure. With a simple storyline and a bagful of clever references to some of the most iconic sci-fi films ever made, it will give children and adults alike a few good laughs.

A sequel to the expertly crafted stop-motion film released in 2015, this claymation sees Shaun stumble upon a lost alien, Lu-La, who has crashed her spaceship near Mossy Bottom Farm. Lu-La can perfectly replicate any sounds she hears – something that made many young viewers in the theatre burst into laughter.

Director Aardman keeps older audiences entertained in this family adventure with clever sci-fi movie references throughout the film.

As Shaun tries to help the alien return home, they quickly encounter the robot-like female boss of the Ministry of Alien Detection, who is dead set on capturing creatures from space.

One of the reasons why the Shaun the Sheep TV series has been a success is because there is no dialogue. It means the story can transcend the language barrier and be appreciated by a wider audience. This film successfully carries on with this trademark.

Farmageddon serves up good laughs for different age groups with some brilliant clay animation work. If you are looking for a lighthearted film to watch during the winter break, check out this sheepquel.
