Noah Centineo will star in a live-action 'Master of the Universe' movie.

Hollywood has decided Noah Centineo has the power and physique to step into He-Man’s leather boots and signature silver harness. He’ll just have to see his hairdresser or the wig people about replicating the character’s long blond locks.

On Monday, the Perfect Date and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star confirmed to American talk show host Jimmy Fallon that he will play the superhero from the 1980s cartoon in the upcoming live-action reboot of Masters of the Universe.

He-Man’s history and mythos were built from his appearances in comic books, action figures and cult-favourite animated TV series, which ran from 1983 to 1985.

Centineo will be the second actor to play He-Man and his mild-mannered alter-ego, Prince Adam, on the big screen. Dolph Lundgren, who starred in the famous 80s boxing movie, Rocky, and reprised his role as Ivan Drago in 2018’s Creed II, played him in a campy 1987 live-action movie Masters of the Universe, though his He-Man looked more like a pirate than the cartoon version.

Sony has yet to announce who will play the other royals and inhabitants of Eternia – or more importantly, He-Man’s nemesis, Skeletor.
