Evangeline Lilly (left) joins the MCU as Wasp, while Paul Rudd reprises his role as Ant-Man.

Ant-Man and The Wasp finds an excellent balance of comedic flare and high-octane action that will keep audiences captivated.

While some were disappointed in Ant-Man’s absence from Avengers: Infinity Warthey’ll be pleased to find their beloved little (and massive) superhero return in a sequel that was in many ways better than its predecessor.

With Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) now having firmly established himself as a welcomed member of the Marvel Universe, and with character development already taken care of, Ant-Man 2 is more fast-paced, to-the-point, and action packed than the first film.

Being likeable and hilarious is now second nature to the comedy veteran Rudd, who carries the film with his charm, affability, and self-deprecating humour.

Meanwhile, his new sidekick Wasp, played by Evangeline Lilly, is another welcomed addition to the Marvel Universe. And Michael Pena reprises his role as Luis, Lang’s best friend and former cellmate, and is equally as hilarious the second time around.

The movie takes place before the events of Infinity War – a movie that was so grand in scale and intensity that, in many ways, Ant-Man 2 serves as a nice “cool- down” film. It’s nice for viewers can just relax and enjoy a movie without having to worry about the fate of so many beloved characters, and the entire universe.

With that said, Ant-Man and The Wasp certainly isn’t as epic as recent Marvel Films, like Infinity War and Black Panther.

So if you’re expecting to have your mind-blown and your socks knocked off, don’t. If that’s what you want, wait for the next Avengers film, which according to IMDB is set to include both Ant-Man and Wasp.

But if you want a relaxing and delightfully hilarious action film with likeable characters and awesome Marvel special effects to boot, this is a movie that’s well worth watching.
