Throwing a party in your home can be hard when you want to invite all your mates round, but you know they’ll be packed in like sardines. That’s why there are so many party rooms to choose from in Hong Kong.

Most venues have three to four activities for people to take part in, but there are more than 10 different forms of entertainment to choose from at the Combogame indoor amusement zone.

The 3,000 square foot venue in Causeway Bay exudes a minimalistic vibe with its stark white walls and cute, Instagram-worthy neon signs in bright colours. Various activities are spread out around the room, making it perfect for parties where people can pick and choose to do what they want.

Entertainment-wise, Combogame pretty much has it all. Do you want to play something relaxing? Shoot some pool, play a board game, or battle it out on the mahjong table (which shuffles and stacks the tiles automatically). Ready to take on a game that requires a bit more energy? Give it your all in a (not-so?) friendly game of foosball, try out the latest VR games on the HTC Vive virtual reality gaming system, or belt out your favourite power ballads on the karaoke machine.

If you’re still up for more, you can play darts (with an electronic scoring system) and video games (PlayStation 4 and Switch), have a go at a claw machine loaded with prizes, and even take on a retro arcade cabinet that’s loaded with classics games such as Street Fighter 2, Final Fight, and Warriors of Fate.

Combogame also offers food and beverage packages for private functions, so you don’t have to worry about moving to a different place to eat, and you can leave the cleaning up to the friendly staff. The menu includes a range of shareable finger foods such as chicken wings and mini hot dogs, and there are also salad and dessert options if that’s not enough.

Overall, Combogame is the perfect place to go for many situations. From when you’ve got loads of friends that you want to hang out with at the same time, to an alternative first date, to a fun-filled family day, to a lazy chill session with your closest friends, this indoor venue offers plenty of laughs and good times at a budget-friendly price.

The only thing you have to watch out for is that it only opens at 3pm on weekdays. Other than this minor quibble, this venue makes a great indoor summer hangout.
