This round we asked: What item would you use to protect yourself from a super typhoon?

Contestant 1

A submarine, for sure! There might be heavy rain and strong winds up above, but things would be quite calm underwater. With friends and family on board, we could explore the mysterious ocean, discover new species in the deep, or have a submarine party - all the while staying safe and sound, and very dry!

Contestant 2

Nothing! I love the rain and the wind, and there's nothing better than spending typhoon season running around and getting wet. However, I wouldn't stay out too long as I really don't fancy catching a cold. A nice warm cocoa afterwards would be the absolute cherry on top!

Contestant 3

If I could only use one item to protect myself from a super typhoon, it would be the Hypervelocity Armour from Iron Man. Not only would it protect me from the wind, rain and debris while I cruise around during the storm, I'd also be able to save anyone in danger.

Contestant 4

Since the wind from a super typhoon is the main problem, a super-huge hairdryer would be the perfect protection. It would be wind-powered and blow out massive amounts of air to counteract the typhoon. It's eco-friendly, and you could dry your hair at the same time!

Contestant 5

I'd bring a lightweight, typhoon-proof, invisible box to wear around my body. Inside, I would have Wi-fi/4G access, laptop synchronisation, social networking apps and, of course, Angry Birds. Notifications from the Observatory would pop up and inform me of the latest weather conditions, so I would know when to take it off.

Contestant 6

I would get hold of a bunch of balloons with sunny, smiley face designs on them. They would take me straight up into the sky and let the wind blow me around the whole city, visiting places I wouldn't normally see. What's more, the sunny faces on the balloons would remind everyone that the sun is always there, even when there's a storm.

Contestant 7

If I could choose one item to protect me from a super typhoon, it would be a bed, so I could fall asleep during the storm and dream. Naturally, I would be protected by the world of dreams!

Contestant 8

Nothing would protect me from a super typhoon better than a nice, big suitcase. Not only would it work as a chair if I wanted to sit and rest, it would also be my shelter from the terrible weather. I would squeeze myself into the suitcase and hide inside it, while everyone else was running away from falling trees and wobbly buildings.

Contestant 9

Definitely Iron Man's armour. Instead of being confined in my domestic cage, I could swagger along deserted highways and listen to nature's symphony! What's more, lightning rejuvenates the suit, so I wouldn't have to worry about being struck. I could even get Jarvis [Iron Man's super computer] to chat with me if I got bored!

Contestant 10

I would use colourful balloons to protect myself. Filled with helium, their low density combined with the strong wind would easily lift me up to the sky. Not only could I finally experience flying, I could also provide some enjoyment to the people being blown away on the streets below. This idea was inspired by the Pixar animation Up.
