Sassy covers of 70s show tunes

Loved for its awesome covers of pop songs from many eras, Glee: The Music Presents Glease continues the trend. The album features nine songs from 70s musical Grease, including Greased Lightning, and Summer Nights.

New cast members this season mean new voices. In this episode, Grease's main characters, Sandy and Danny, were played by newbies Marley (Melissa Benoist) and Ryder (Blake Jenner). Along with the original cast members Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith), the four build a wonderful chemistry in You're The One That I Want.

Kitty (Becca Tobin) was born to sing Look at Me I'm Sandra Dee, her mean, sassy voice totally suited to the song. The reprise is sung by Benoist, whose soulful voice expresses her character's insecurity and sincerity.

The highlight of the album might be Cassandra's (Kate Hudson) inclusion in There Are Worst Things I Could Do. Her sultry, sexy tone makes this track stand out from the the peppy tracks.

Glee never disappoints the "Gleeks", and musicals are a definite way to please us. How about Hairspray next time?
