When No Doubt took a hiatus in 2004, they were one of the most recognisable names in the music industry. Since then, we've grown used to artists like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber ruling the airwaves.

Eight years on, the influential South California band are back together and set to reclaim their place at the top with a new album.

On Push and Shove the group have picked up exactly where the 2001 Rock Steady left off, with a collection of energetic pop-ska-reggae tracks that'll get listeners grooving along.

Lead singer Gwen Stefani's voice still sounds amazing: her flowing vocals on first single, Settle Down, are full of swagger. The thumping title track, produced by Major Lazer (of recent Snoop Lion fame), is fun until the Matrix-like tempo switch between the chorus and verses leaves you confused and irritated.

The album features quite a few love songs: radio-friendly One More Summer is easily the best.

The industry may have changed in the last eight years, but there is no doubt that, er, No Doubt, still know how to make good music.
