I'm 18 years old.
I like to gush over bands - or just one or two members (cough) Kev Nish of Far East Movement (cough).
I intend to make the most of my last year as a teen, with appropriate behaviour (read: fangirling).
It's summer and I don't need to focus on my education for a while ... buh-bye brooding alternative rock (emotions galore!) and hello songs I like to burn brain cells to.

An upbeat tune with lyrics about a not-so-stellar relationship - so infectious! Slightly unconventional, but perhaps Adam Levine's right, all those fairy tales are full of ... it.

Pink's spin on words "too school for cool" may be wrong in all the right ways, but her question, "What part of a party don't you understand?", is motivation enough to freak out. Although university is around the corner, "school" is out ... forever (general requirements aside, I finally get to choose what I want to study). Raise your glass ... for me?
Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't) by All Time Low
Excuse me while I swoon, but look at the loveliness that is Alex Gaskarth's hair. Well, the name itself accurately sums up the relationship I had with holiday homework - "I fought it for a long time now ... could have [done], should have done, what I said I was going to do". Oops. But who am I kidding? Summer goes hand in hand with procrastination.

We The Kings are still going strong and their songs are catchy as ever - c'mon, I bet you still remember the tune of one of their first hits Check Yes Juliet. Party, Fun Love & Radio - all we'll ever need, released just in time for summer.
Cinema feat Gary Go by Benny Benassi
"You are a cinema, I could watch you forever ..." Before this, I didn't know creative (albeit slightly creepy) metaphors could mesh so well with techno elements. Although most are familiar with Skrillex's remix, the original is definitely worth listening to.
Live My Life (Party Rock Remix) feat Justin Bieber & Redfoo by Far East Movement
Like a G6 was everywhere last summer, and now Far East Movement is at it again - churning out hit after hit (and looking great doing it as well, to the delight of fangirls everywhere). Enlisting the Biebs' vocals, FM is once again the host of an all-inclusive party for the tween and clubbing scene. Redfoo even provides some much-needed synths, effectively making sure you'll have it stuck in your head for days - oh my dirty bass, Far East Movement, you drive me "cray".
Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen
We've all seen the spoofs and memes, but you can't deny that this is too catchy for its own good ... it's the perfect song to burn brain cells to. "Before you came into my life ... I missed you so, so bad." Um, how is that even possible? But Carly, we'll take your word for it.
Glad You Came by The Wanted
The Wanted isn't your typical boy band - they actually sing, refrain from wearing colour-co-ordinated outfits and don't have overly-coiffed hair (One Directioners, I'm not sorry). The catchy synth hook is reason enough to give this a listen - plus, their reminder that "all that counts is here and now", is almost poetic compared to that "girl, you don't know you're beautiful" nonsense.
