Iyaz's Replay has a sound reminiscent of the singles of Kingston and labelmate Jason Derulo. With heavy dance beats and Caribbean sounds, this is an energetic album with tunes that will definitely get people to move.
The title track was released as a single last year and reached No1 in Britain and Australia, and No2 in the US. Featuring heavy electro-beats and a catchy chorus, it will get people on the dance floor or pumped up at the gym.
Other notable mentions include OK and Heartbeat which have similar hard-hitting rhythms and a high likeability factor.
However, the album's lyrics are unmemorable. Most of the songs depict the classical tough rapper being rendered powerless by a beautiful woman. Unfortunately, this element overpowers the album. Most of the songs are so singularly focused on his disbelief that he can be with such beauties and delineations of their bodies. We get it.
But if you can ignore this, Replay is a catchy, energetic summer album.
