Here’s a chance to brush up on your persuasive writing and analytical skills, while learning about world issues. Leap Studio Ltd wants a Junior Reporter to cover one of their courses. In this course, Leap will introduce students to the mainland microfinance group Wokai.

Students on the course will explore the role of microfinance in fighting poverty; meet Daniela Che, the co-president of Wokai’s Hong Kong Chapter; learn the basics of loans; evaluate borrowers; and finally, work on a proposal to convince their teachers to sponsor a particular entrepreneur.

As the YP Junior Reporter, you can attend the whole writing course, which runs on Saturdays for six weeks from 11.30am-1pm, or you can just attend the classes which you think will be useful to your article. For more details, check out www.leap-studio.com

If you want to be considered for this assignment, write a paragraph profile on Muhammad Yunus of Grameen bank – the man who made microfinancing famous.

E-mail it to [email protected] with the word 'Leap' in the subject field by Wednesday April 14.

Don’t forget to include your full name, age, school and telephone number. The chosen candidate will be informed by e-mail on Thursday.
