At our annual Music Day on April 1, we heard everything from high-energy rock to classic ballads sung in Cantonese, Putonghua and English.

The programme started off with the all-girls hip-hop dance team, followed by live bands, singing, instrumental performances, and a delightful mini-drama musical highlighting the importance of parental love.

Our special guests and adjudicators included Ms Yeung Shuk-ching, of the band Equator; Ms Lau Hang-sin, music panel chairperson of New Asia Middle School; Ms Keung Chui-ping, music teacher of HKECA Wu Si Chong Memorial School; and singing teacher Mr Au Siu-yu.

The Golden Group Singing Award went to the band Prayer for Forest. Lee Sze-man (5C) won the Golden Solo Award for Give Me a Reason to Forget, while the Silver Solo Singing Award went to Christy Chan (3A) for Think of Me, from Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. The Golden Musical Instrument winner was Li See-yin (5A), who performed Dream Wedding on piano, while Green House took home the championship.
