Sorry, Mona Lisa had to stay in Paris, but Inventing le Louvre brings her friends to Hong Kong Heritage Museum

Not many people realise that the famous Louvre museum in Paris was originally part of the royal palace. In its 800-year existence, it has gone from a private gallery of kings and queens, to an amazing collection of both ancient and modern art that anyone can see. Of course, flying to Paris is pretty expensive, but now you can get a taste of the Louvre without shelling out for plane tickets.
The Hong Kong Heritage Museum is showing items from the famous museum in the exhibit “Inventing le Louvre: From Palace to Museum over 800 Years”. The exhibition features 126 masterpieces, including statues, paintings, sculptures and antiques. Our junior reporters Eugenia Leung and Hillary Yip went to check it out.

Inventing le Louvre is at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum until July 24. For more information.
