To Dad With Love

Time flies by,
Life passes before my eyes.
Yet I am still waiting,
Patiently here…
Remembering the things we used to do!
Thinking about you.

Remembering the times
When we’d eat lemon and lime.
Feeling ever so sublime!
Thinking about you.

Remembering I used to get piggybacks.
Turning to you for the courage I lacked.
Help me, please.
I need you now!
Thinking about you.

It’s been so long
Since you have been gone.
I must say I’m ashamed.
‘Cause when you’re feeling all alone,
I’ve been out playing games!

Valentine’s Day is drawing near,
I have a gift for you, my dear.
A voice that sounds similar to yours,
A voice that sings beautiful songs galore.

Is my voice sweet like angels around you?
“Yes,” you reply. “You’re an angel, too.”
A song is all I can give to you,
Oh Daddy, Daddy!
I miss you, I do.

Thinking about you.
