Feel the heat in Young Post's summer writing competition

Calling all book lovers and keen writers. We’re excited to announce that the Young Post Summer Writing Competition 2015 is finally open! We’re looking for creative and interesting stories of about 1,800 words.

Winners will receive some amazing books, and finalists will have the kudos of being published in Hong Kong’s best English newspaper for teens.

So what are you waiting for? Get writing!

Theme: Sunshine on my shoulder


Rules

1. The competition is not open to any South China Morning Post staff or their families.

2. Contestants must be 18 or under.

3. Judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

4. The work must be fiction and all your own work.

5. Stories should be around 1,800 words.

6. Stories should be set in Hong Kong.

7. Works may be published in the print version of Young Post and online.


Closing date is midnight on June 28, 2015.

Be sure to include your full name, age, school, phone number and a headshot photograph with your entry.

Send your entries to yp@scmp.com, with the word “Sunshine” in subject field.
