If I were a part of Cirque du Soleil, I would definitely be one of the teeterboard performers. Teeterboard performance is an integration of acrobatics, music, choreography and comedy, it is very entertaining and thrilling at the same time. It captivates audience of all ages.

In the final part of the show, a performer stands on one end of the teeterboard until they are sent flying up by two performers who jump on the opposite end. The performer also demonstrates a series of breath-taking stunts such as doing somersaults in the air and landing onto a tower of people. The performance involves cooperation between the troupers.

Last summer, I watched the circus ‘Mystère’ also performed by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. I was stunned by the stupendous performance, especially the teeterboard act. In the act, one of the performers tripped while leaping onto the board. All the audience was shocked by the accident. Despite the pain, the performer continued without hesitation. I was inspired by his professional behavior and I learnt to be resilient in the midst of challenges. Also, solidarity was demonstrated when the other members of the group supported the injured trouper. I truly appreciate the cohesive team culture and I understand the importance of working in unison.

Even thinking about the teeterboard performance, I can feel the adrenaline rush. I can imagine myself flying freely in the sky. How fantastic it would be being in the center of the spotlight and within the cheers and applause of the audience!
