"My Day out in Hong Kong with Shawn Mendes" by Hania Umer
We asked our readers to write an essay titled "My Day out with Shawn Mendes". Here is one of the entries. It has not been edited.
If I could spend a day out with Shawn in Hong Kong, I’d take him to Tai Mo Shan. Tai Mo Shan has a beautiful scenery so does Victoria Harbour and The Peak, but those places are crowded and wouldn’t really give me the personal time I want to spend with Shawn. The cool air, sunset and peaceful environment is going to be just beautiful. I would just want to be close to him by knowing his deep secrets, his interest, his ups and downs in life. My goal would be trying to make sweet memories with him that would remind him of me if he ever visits Hong Kong again.
After seeing the sunset at Tai Mo Shan and talking about our personal lives, we would go Mott32 for dinner, the place is designed by a famous interior designer for people to feel the Hong Kong life as its designed in a traditional yet classy way. We’d have hotpot while laughing sharing crazy stuff with each other. And end up our day with a Starbucks hot chocolate latte with chocolate cake since it’s his favourite and he likes to eat it once a day plus its winter so it’s going to set the perfect winter feel.
I’d let him know that I can treat him better than anyone else and tell him that he’d never be alone. I believe Shawn Mendes can change the world's point of view through his song lyrics as the way he portrays his feelings about things is clear and it convinces others to feel the same pain or love he feels. Hope we would understand each other more and always remember the day we spent together.
One day , I know it’ll happen because my wish to meet Shawn is strong.
