We asked our readers to write an essay titled "My Day out with Shawn Mendes". Here is one of the entries. It has not been edited.
A medley of activities based off a medley of his songs...
The morning begins with a visit to the Trick Eye museum at the Peak. Shawn, Don’t Be A Fool and get tricked by the optical illusions on display! Afterwards, we will take the Peak Tram downhill, where Shawn learn how to play a traditional Chinese Guzheng. Having mastered the Strings on the guitar, let’s see how well Shawn handles the Guzheng. Next, we head to a Chinese restaurant for a Yum Cha. Shawn will never have tasted anything Like This before, because he will be eating his very own handmade dumplings after a dim sum DIY session.
After lunch, we travel to the Kowloon Walled City Park. The Walled City had a Bad Reputation as a haven for crime and drugs in 1950s, but now with its beautiful pavilions and relics, the park is now the perfect photo opportunity. Afterwards, it’s time to try HK’s iconic freshly made egg waffles. Waiting in the queue will definitely require some Patience. If the sweet Aftertaste is not enough, we will also have some bubble tea. With our stomachs full, we head to Shek O for a short hike to the perfect rock climbing spot on the granite cliffs. Not to fear, I have taken the necessary safety precautions, including a safety harness. So if Shawn really cannot Hold On, we won’t hear him screaming, “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back!” Wouldn’t want any Stitches on him now, do we?
As night falls, I will take Shawn to give a short performance to the refugees at the Christian Action charity. Music lifts the spirit, and Shawn’s music will bring warmth and comfort to the refugees in knowing they will Never Be Alone. Lastly, with the Lights On over Victoria Harbour, we will sit back and reminisce our Memories of the day and enjoy the nightly Symphony of Lights as the perfect end to the day.
