Calling for creative writers to enter Winter Short Story competition

Ta daah! We've opened our annual Winter Short Story competition. If you are a budding creative writer, keen to see your work in print and hopefully win some super-cool prizes, then you need to enter this competition! Just send Young Post a story that is 1,800-2,000 words long. The story must be all your own work and must be set in Hong Kong.

This year's theme is:

Cold comfort

On your story's first page, write your name, age, school, and contact phone number. Email yp@scmp.com with "winter" in the subject field and attach your story and a jpg photo of yourself.

The winner will scoop a beautiful Amazon Kindle Paperwhite and case, with loads of vouchers for books. The two runners-up will also receive a Kindle. The top entries will be published in our super Winter Holiday editions.

Closing date is December 10.

Terms & Conditions

  • Contest is only open to secondary school students in Hong Kong.
