Candace took time out to relax at a glass-blowing class.

My senior year at the University of Washington has been in full swing for two weeks, and it's been such a blur. I've applied for graduation, caught up with friends and begun writing my honours thesis.

It's been busy, and as tempted as I am to curl up in a ball with some ice cream and watch Netflix, I can't.

It's all good though - I'm not floating around aimlessly like I was during my freshman year.

I have great friends I can count on, I'm nearly done with my degree, and I'm not clueless when it comes to schoolwork. I wouldn't say it's a breeze, but I've got enough sorted out to not feel like everything I am learning is going over my head! My honours thesis is probably the biggest obstacle I'm up against.

Yeah, seriously, it has to be around 30 pages. Thankfully, I'm writing (and fangirling) about something I'm truly passionate about - the hip hop group, Far East Movement.

It's still in its early stages, but I'll be writing about their impact on the Asian American community through the lenses of engagement and representation. I'M SO EXCITED. It's going to be hard, but it'll be worth it when I see it printed and bound.

School aside, I really want to have some fun. I'm using this quarter to get out of my comfort zone a little bit and explore even more of Seattle (it's way easier now that I have access to a car).

My boyfriend, Anakin, his sister, Sharon, and I went to a glass-blowing class recently and it was GREAT.

If you know me, you know that I'm a klutz, but professional artists were on hand to guide us. And seeing our creations come to life was a blast.
