I’ve never been too keen on taking risks because I’m afraid of failure, and therefore, I have had to pass up many opportunities. I could have pushed myself further and learned more about myself, but I didn’t. Risk, as we know, can bring great rewards. But with great rewards come a higher possibility of failure. I was afraid of failure so much that I decided the rewards weren’t worth it. I wanted to play it safe and live a mundane life. But that is not enough.

Most inspiring quote:

“The biggest risk is not taking any risk … In a world that’s changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks.”

Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg

We can only achieve a breakthrough by doing things we are not familiar with. If we play it safe and always stay within our comfort zone, we will forever be confined to it. It won’t help us to reach our full.

Hello there! Hong Kong has one of the world’s best education systems, but sadly, it is also one of the most stressful cities in the world. I am finding it hard to survive as a student in this bustling city. I am not enjoying a perfect teenage life here. Ideally, a teenager’s life should be stress-free. But teenagers in Hong Kong are under pressure to do well in their studies. I feel quite stressed about it.

Most inspiring quote

“If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath.”

Amit Ray, author of Om Chanting and Meditation

Although I’m busy with my studies, I do hang out with friends. Sometimes, we watch a movie, eat in a restaurant, or take a walk at midnight on a public holiday when everything seems to be so quiet. We only live once, so why shouldn’t we use the opportunity to do something we enjoy? The above quote tells us that we can’t always be living in anxiety.

Hi everyone! Hongkongers are so busy that they don’t even have enough time to sleep. People say that achieving a good work-life balance is important, but how can we deal with this problem of a lack of sleep? I have a different viewpoint.

Most inspiring quote

“Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight.”

Phyllis Diller, American actress and stand-up comic

I am not telling you that you should not sleep, but excessive “napping” can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle. When I am falling asleep, I would try to tell myself that I must stay awake and continue my work. I will sleep at night for a certain number of hours, and wake up when my alarm goes off. Staying up and working hard for a long period is not easy, but the quote reminds me that I must not sleep too much. Also, I should not go to bed angry. It is really true.

Hi there! There is no denying that most students are stressed about Hong Kong’s competitive education system. They are not having any fun in the classroom. How can they enjoy the lessons? At times, I was very frustrated and felt like no matter how much effort I put in, I wouldn’t gain anything. But now I have realised that facing adversity is a great experience and it can make me stronger.

Most inspiring quote

“Problems are not stop signs , they are guidelines.”

Robert H. Schuller, motivational speaker and author

We should not think of learning as hard work. If you keep thinking that it is tough and give up, you will be stressed and get poor grades. Don’t fill your head with worries. Remember it may be stormy now, but it can’t be like that forever, and you are much stronger than you think. So, just cheer up and enjoy every day!
