Hi there! It can be difficult being a student in Hong Kong’s overly-competitive environment. It’s hard to stand out academically as there are hundreds and thousands of talented students out there. Achieving a good work-life balance is near impossible if you want to get good grades. It sometimes feels as though I’m fighting over whether I should do things that I enjoy now or invest more time into my schoolwork to build a good foundation for the future.

Most inspiring quote:

“The only thing we’re allowed to believe is that we won’t regret the choice we have made.” - Levi, Attack on Titan

I guess what I’ve learned over the years is that as important as your academics are, we all have our limits, and it’s not pretty when you reach the breaking point. Remember to spend time with your family and friends. They’re worth it. You have to be there for them if you want them to be there when you need them. Friends will come and go, and the good ones are worth waiting for.

Hi everyone!

I’m a guy who’s willing to take on everything this world has to offer. One of the biggest challenges that I’ve come across was an expectation that many students in Hong Kong face. This was something that frightened me and it was a burden for me. This huge fear that I had to deal with was the fear of not living up to these expectations. But this became a simple thing to overcome, because I had changed my approach to this fear.

Most inspiring quote:

“Somewhere deep down there’s a decent man in me, he just can’t be found.” - Eminem

I’ve faced moments that were almost calamitous for me, but I always found the potential that we all have inside us. That secret motivation that’s hidden within us is what defines us as human beings, and it’s one that I’m always trying to grasp.

Heyyyy ;) I am an independent, fearless girl who has been thinking differently since I was young. I’ve always been very outraged whenever I see injustice in the world.

Most inspiring quote

“Be the person you want to be, not who others tell you to be.” - Avi Kaplan, Pentatonix

My strong reactions have certainly earned me some weird glances, but I am glad that I was able to care more about other people instead of staying inside a protected room with no knowledge of the darkness of the world. I have been working to accept myself and be proud of who I am.

Hello there! I’m an introvert currently facing some rough situations, but I want to force myself to get out in the world more.

Most inspiring quote:

“Forget what hurt you in the past, but never forget what it taught you” - Unknown

Even though I’d much rather watch YouTubers all day (specifically danisnotonfire), I’m trying my best to use many opportunities to widen my mindset, as well as meet lots of fantastic people. I have learned that to fully live life, you must have the mindset to stride forward and forget about any injuries from the past. That being said, everything happens for a reason. There is always something to learn from any situation, whether it was a failure or a success.
