ROYP: Inspired by CEOs and motivational lyrics, our readers share the words that drive them

Each week, we’ll be asking some Young Post readers to share a little bit about themselves and a quote that inspires them

Hi everyone! The happiest moment of my life was when I got my puppy Buzz. It taught me that nagging your parents works, as long as you can keep it up for 14 years. And I know everyone says this about their dogs, but he’s my best friend and I swear he can read my mind.

Most inspiring quote:

“May the bridges I burn light my way.” - Dylan McKay, 90210

Although it’s quite dramatic, I use it to remind myself to be less indecisive and more confident with the choices I make in life, no matter how big or small.

Hello everyone. I believe action speaks louder than words. This year, I am taking the initiative to experience new things which inspire me to think out of the box.

Most inspiring quote:

“You never know until you try.” - Shawn Mullins, from his song Soul Child

I’d rather be full of sorrow for things I did than full of regret for things I could have done.

Hello everyone! I stuck around on my school debating team for two years even though I was never a good debater and lost many matches.

Most inspiring quote:

“It’s not about winning matches. It’s about whether you become a better person.” - My debating coach

This used to annoy me, but perhaps through our failure we grow just as much, if not more.

Hey, readers of YP! I’m entering my last year of high school and I’ve never felt more terrified. The years have just flown by, and I don’t know what the future is going to hold.

Most inspiring quote:

“Don’t always worry what your next line is supposed to be. There is no script.” - Richard Costolo, former CEO of Twitter

I guess I just have to take it one step at a time and stop worrying about what might happen in the next week, next month, or year.
