Every Monday we ask our Brain Game contestants one interesting, thought-provoking or just plain quirky question. Their answers will be published anonymously in Young Post. Then readers can vote for their FAVOURITE answer. We will eliminate the contestant with the LEAST votes every week until we have a winner.

The ultimate Brain Game winner will receive six one-day tickets to HK Disneyland, worth HK$2,994.

The Contestants

Contestant 1

Ever since I was little, I've wanted my very own, personal light. One that can hover in the air above my head while I'm reading. It can't be too bright, and it has to be a warmish hue because that way I'll fall asleep easier afterwards. In fact, if it can turn off when it miraculously reads that I've fallen asleep, it'll be perfect, and my nights will be perfect, too. I mean, I couldn't possibly waste energy, right?

 Contestant 2

As I am a forgetful person, I hope there will be an invention which can help me to store some beautiful and important memories. If a Pensieve can be invented before I die, it will be great; it appeared in the Harry Potter series and allows you to store memories for review whenever you feel like it. It will sure help my homework!

 Contestant 3

The one thing I'd like to be able to use before I die is a device that allows us to see things from another person's perspective. Think about it. If we could understand other people's point of view, wars would end and homophobia and racism would no longer exist. The world would be a much better place. And my dad just might agree to increase my weekly allowance!

 Contestant 4

It is human nature to forget things. So one thing I would love to see invented before I die is a machine that saves all of our memories. With a single touch, your precious memories of that Taylor Swift concert would be with you. It would be easy to recall happy times playing  GTA 5, and most importantly, I would never forget my secret crush either.

Contestant 5

I hope an anti-ageing device is invented before I die ... actually, make that before I reach the age of 30! I love becoming more mature as a person, but I never want to have sagging skin and fragile bones. If the device could freeze the ageing process, I could live an eternity and decide when to die. It would give us longer to educate the next generation, too.

Contestant 6

I have a sweet tooth, but I'm also obsessed with fitness. So how about sweets which provide us with all the nutrients we need, kills viruses, don't make us fat, and never give us cavities? Oh, it has to taste good, too! It would finally mean we don't have to take revolting medicine, or eat Brussels sprouts to stay healthy. We could eat sweets all day!

Contestant 7

There are way too many inventions that I want to see before I die. Originally, I imagined a robot that could tie my shoelaces. But, that would make me look lazy. So, my ultimate, cheesy, super-cool invention would be... spray-on shoes! Spray it over your foot, and voila!, a shoe is formed! I've even got a slogan: "Any shape. Any colour. Any day. Spray away!"

Contestant 8

Definitely a cure for cancer. Cancer has an impact on many different people and their loved ones. Because cancer has no cure, it often leads to death. Before I die, I'd like to see a cancer-free world, or at least a cure for this agonising disease. This will give hope to individuals and reunite them with their loved ones around the world. And it will also give people the hope to fight for their lives!

Contestant 9

We have advanced gadgets and have already explored different planets, so we're set, right? Wrong! The most basic things still need improvement. For example, earphones. The world needs tangle-free earphones. However you fold your earphones, they will always come out tangled. It's like a knot expert has sneaked into your bag and tied them. I'll be able to die peacefully when someone finds a solution.

Contestant 10

I want to be able to enjoy being a telepathic superhero, by using brain-to-machine interfaces (of course!). Neuroscientists have been developing brain-to-machine interfaces that covert brain waves into machine code and movement. The devices can be used to help paralysed patients walk again. But imagine being able to transfer your thoughts into images on a screen, or phone someone just by thinking of them. It's mind control!
